We'll call it gray.

we love

the back and forth.
the push and pull.
this way. that way.
separate. and meet again.

go separate ways again.
just in case.

guessing. speculating.
stay safe. now jump. try trust.
now take a step back again.
heavy choices. light decisions.
interpreting silence.
body language. and eyes.
and a slight turn of the mouth.

enough reading into it all.

reality. reality. reality.
we need something new.
something new is what we'll get.
we'll learn.
and grow.
and embrace hindsight.
and stop all our worrying.
our back and forth.
how we push and pull.
going this way.
and that way.
we'll find clarity.
discover plans better than our own.
we'll learn. we'll love.

and let's be honest.
we have a lot of that to do.

Decision.

I cover my mouth and close my eyes.
I take a deep breath and let out a sigh.
Asking questions about this love-
These different feelings I'm full of.
Running away but returning to something new.
The truth is I can't stop loving you.

Am I letting myself fall?
Me.
Full of fear?

Am letting myself feel this?
Not fear.
But falling.
It is.
New, but familiar.

And I want to obey.
Trusting and resting in God's love.
That's where I want to stay.
